 #1 Joe’s Stone Crabs

The best known seafood delicacy in Florida was first discovered in this area, specifically where Joe’s Stone Crabs now stand.  The menu offers a wide selection of seafood entrees, apart from the house specials, which are Stone Crab claws.  They also have steaks and chicken, and salads.  Joe’s Stone Crabs is also known for its hash brown and mushroom sauce.

Unfortunately, reservations are not allowed in this prized seafood restaurant, unless you belong to the VIP list.  During peak hours and peak months, the waiting could stretch up to 2 hours.  The only alternative to the long wait is the take-out counter beside the restaurant proper.

# 2 – Azul

Perhaps the most romantic dinner venue in Miami, Azul provides a spectacular view of the Biscayne Bay, and provides one of the best wine lists in the Magic City.   People often say they are paying for the elegant ambience.  Definitely for the upscale diner, Azul specializes in Mediterranean cuisines with an Asian twist.  Its wine selection is the best in the area, which explains the extravagant price. Azul is highly recommended for special occasions.

Seafood entrees include fresh catch of the day seasoned with aromatic herbs and spices or simply salt and lemon, grilled directly in an open charcoal grill. It may also be steamed, poached, sautéed, fried or baked.  Others prefer a starter of seafood chowder.

#3- News Cafe

Known for its 24 hour breakfast specials, News Café is truly crowded during the peak season because of its relatively inexpensive prices.  Breakfast specials include eggs, pancakes, bagels and many more.  It also provides a wide selection of national and international newspapers.

A must-try apart from the breakfast entree is the healthy Mid Eastern Combo platter of tabouli salad, grape leaves and hummus, a paste of pureed chickpea, oil, lemon juice, garlic and tahini.

The Capital Grille is the home of delicious steaks and fine wines.  It also serves seafood entrees and a great selection of delicious desserts.  It is mostly known for its impeccable service. It is conveniently located in the heart of the downtown. Prices also designed for the upscale market.

Authentic Italian specials come alive in every table here with homemade pastas, veal and chicken dishes. It is one of the highly recommended restaurants here in Miami.
